Once I was listening to a biographical interview with a woman who worked as a comedian, and she spoke about a friend of hers who showed up in deep distress about a bunch of different things. Rather than engaging with her friend about all those stressors, instead she replied, "Oh, dear, when was the last time you ate a meal or took a nap? Let me fix you a sandwich."

We all have 53 problems, more or less. We're all stuck inside this human condition. Some people are more used to it than others. Some people still haven't figured out which things they can fix and which things are unfixable. Spending a lot of time trying to fix the unfixable is stressful and exhausting.

Egocentricity is the illusion of being a separate self, separate from everything—ourselves, each other, life, the universe—that results primarily from the process of social conditioning. Egocentricity is interested in one thing and one thing only: SURVIVAL AT ANY COST.
