I saw Van Halen in the original, at their peak, during their 1984 Tour, on 2/15/84 at the Hampton Coliseum.  It was fuckin' loud, back before I knew to wear ear plugs to concerts to save my future hearing.  I went to a lot of concerts during those two final years of high school.

K texted me after I fell asleep that my old keyboard is still at the condo (presumably in the closet).  I was able to cancel the keyboard I ordered last night.  I had a microphone back then also for recording my voice, although it is tricky finding a quiet place for doing that at either house or condo.  I was able to do some recording at the house with the HVAC off while T was away and the pets were sleeping, when there was no landscaping noise in the neighborhood.  I remember I put a sock over the microphone for a cleaner voiceprint, LOL.

Bought that microphone 8 years ago!  I wonder whether it's still at the condo also, or here at the house, or did I give it away, or toss it.  Plenty of inexpensive mics available now for everybody doing their Zoom meetings.

I cannot find the GarageBand project files I created eight years ago, they are not on this laptop -- perhaps were never on this laptop, which I purchased five years ago.  I thought I was careful to copy over all my files but must have overlooked the GarageBand files.  I still have the resulting music files, I listen to them every so often.  But I will never be able to start where I left off with them.  It's a shame, I learned a lot in a short period of time, and I thought I'd have those files to work with now.

I have a variety of ancient backups on external drives, but not one covering a time period between 2011 and 2015 -- I have a full backup from 2011 which is too early.  If I made a full backup of my previous laptop before moving over to this one, I do not know where it is now, or I've overwritten it since then.  I gave that previous laptop to my niece after wiping it, and it later broke, I'm sure it is beyond my reach now.

It's crazy how I have almost every file I've ever created since graduate school, every paper I wrote during law school, all kinds of ancient chat transcripts and naked pics, but somehow lost those files.

There's a possibility they still exist on a remotely stored backup somewhere -- I may have a remote backup at my office, I may have one at the condo, and once upon a time I left one with KWC.  But they'd have to be from a period in time when these files existed -- which I believe is between late October 2012 and early 2015.

Nothing lasts forever, but I really thought these files still existed on my hard drive like all the other files I've lugged around since the early 1990s.

Reminds me of the only copy of my father's book that I had, that I accidentally threw out when I was preparing to move into T's house back at the end of 2004.  I didn't realize it was stacked with a bunch of stuff that I threw out, until much later, when I couldn't find it.

And there are photos of my mother when she was young, that my grandfather gave me when I visited him with KWC back in the 1990s, that I somehow misplaced and never saw again after we returned home.

Stuff goes missing every once in a while, and can never be recreated.
