that book sucked
8 April 2021 19:28I skimmed over the last chapter of that China history book, isn't worth reading to the end, that history book sucked. Should not have taken me two weeks to read such a short book, but it sucked. Poorly edited. Too short, yet still somehow repetitive.
So, onward to the next book: One Thing or Your Mother, by Kirsten Beyer, copyright 2008 by Fox. I bought it used, a paper book, out of print. Because Ms. Beyer became well known as an author for Star Trek: Voyager and then Star Trek: Discovery. But she also wrote this one novel for the Buffyverse. 69% of readers on Amazon gave it 5 stars, with the top review saying:
By far one the best Buffy books I've read. Beyer has a great style with the dialogue sounding true to the characters, and it reads like you're watching an episode of the TV show. It's too bad that she didn't write more books in these TV tie-ins because she's a wonderful storyteller.
I haven't read any Buffy books yet, so this should be fun. I've been rewatching some of the top ranked episodes lately, so I'm primed for some new Buffy fiction. And yes, fiction, after two nonfiction books. I think I should alternate between fiction and nonfiction.

Otherwise, it's been one week since B & I got our first shots in York. Such a slow week! Two more weeks until my second shot!
Had another busy day at work today, but I'm hoping for a guilt-free afternoon off tomorrow, back to the condo. B is here already tonight, is planning to stay through the weekend, so I'll let them2 have the house and I'll go to the condo. I might even do my Games with Steve & Friends from the condo on Sunday rather than rushing back for lunch with T -- T will probably need Time to Self by then anyway, maybe I'll be at the condo until Monday morning.
Ran this morning, hope to lift weights tomorrow before I head out.

So, next weekend ... probably taking Metro to the condo and then getting a professional haircut. Makes me anxious to think about re-emerging from Quarantine, but, it's going to happen, step by step. If I don't have a complete meltdown doing those two things, I'll think about scheduling a date with one of my known peeps.
