OK, I'm opposed to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, for whatever that's worth to anybody, but I disagree that Russia is committing genocide in Ukraine.  I've seen no evidence of either intent or practice, of a systematic destruction of an entire ethnic group.  Putin claims that Ukraine has always been a part of Russia, that Russia has always been a multi-ethnic nation, not that Ukrainians should be exterminated as a people.

Killing civilians during wartime is not the same as genocide.  Even killing A LOT of civilians during wartime is not the same as genocide.  Genocide is the intentional destruction of an entire people.  The most obvious example in the Western world is the Holocaust of European Jews under Hitler's Germany.  Is Putin trying to round up and kill every ethnic Ukrainian under his domain?  No.
