m_d_hThe house was orderly enough when T returned mid-afternoon yesterday. Maids received the all-clear on their COVID-19 tests so they're coming back on Monday (so I'll work from the condo that day). T & I will have to start preparing for the basement upgrade this weekend, so I'm at the house -- plus I already had plenty of Time to Self this past week.

The universe of people who care about the election outcome are anxious, gaming out the scenarios. For various reasons, there's not much trust in the 8-9 point lead for Biden in the national polls, even though Trump's approval rating has been consistently below water since February 2017. There was a brief 10-day honeymoon in late January 2017, during which a plurality of US adults were willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt -- but then we quickly learned he'd rule as an autocratic right-wing asshole instead of trying to find common ground in the middle.
It could be a wild ride next week. Or it could be over pretty quickly if the polls and economic fundamentals are correct about the outcome.
