feeling better
14 October 2020 13:08Went running and then lifted weights despite the sore throat, which is now feeling better anyway. Also have had time to process all the simultaneous crap of yesterday.
Will go to condo on Friday morning to work from there, while there I'll check the dead laptop to see if there's an easy-to-fix loose wire. If so, good. If not, then I'll send it to Apple for a diagnosis and repair estimate. As T already has Friday evening plans, I'll stay at the condo overnight. Saturday I'll return, bringing with me any items from the condo that I'll want to use while T is away next week. So, Friday morning I'll have the backup laptop to use while repairing the dead one. Meanwhile, sharing T's laptop is working OK.

Typing this on my ancient iPad, because the backup laptops and current iPad are at the condo.
My own laptop suddenly died a hard cold death yesterday while I was cooking dinner. It was working normally all day, and then suddenly was cold, dark, unresponsive -- would not reset or power on, wouldn't do anything.
Had been a busy and stressful day as it was -- suddenly I had no more energy.
I will go to the condo when I have 90 minutes to spare to pick up the other laptop. Or maybe I will work from the condo tomorrow.
At some point I will open the case to see whether I can find a loose connection to power or battery. I have to get the tools from the condo. If I cannot fix it myself -- will send it to Apple for help.
I have been backing up files regularly, and I can use the other laptop, except it's hard drive is too small for a full restore.
Will see how this turns out.
Otherwise feeling too much stress right now, too many other incoming demands yesterday, both personal and work-related. Meditation was tough this morning, but did it anyway.
