I just quit work two hours early for no reason!  And I'm not going to cook tonight!  And maybe I'll break out the bottle of wine early!

I'm not depressed or anxious or anything, just felt like FUCK THE THINGS for once.  I can claim I had a headache and needed to take a couple hours of sick leave, right?  People still get headaches.  Life is a headache.

This morning I took Dax on a longer walk in the snow, like I did yesterday.  It's more fun taking him on longer walks when there's snow everywhere, and it is more work for both of us, trudging through the snow at the playground or along the side of the parkland feels like using the Stairclimber at the gym.  I don't usually take him on hikes in the woods when there's snow on the ground because all the other hikers compress the snow into ice on the trails making it dangerous.

Then I stretched.  Then during my lunch break I did both a dance video and an abs video.  Then ... I showered.  Showering has not been an everyday thing for us during Quarantine.

Afterward, T asked whether I'd cut my hair, I answered, "No ... I washed it ..."

He then offered to do the #3 scalping for me, but I'm not quite ready to go there.  And I want to do it to myself, while nobody else is here.  I may ask him to check it for me afterward, the way I check his hair after he does the #1 on it.

One change we made to the house, at my suggestion:  Squeezing a home gym into the basement meant, where do we put this cat tree then?  I suggested putting it in the living room, which is lined with huge custom windows and gets afternoon sun.  It's also where I'm working from home, and it's where I play with toys when I have the House to Self.  It's basically "my" room, while T spends most of his time in the Media Cave playing video games.  So now the cats spend a lot more time in this cat tree, hanging out in the sun, looking out the windows, and spending time with me :-)

But now we have less space for furniture in the living room, so I'm saying it is time to toss the matching ottoman.  T finally agreed with me, I'll be putting it on the curb after the snow melts, and when there's no further rain or snow in the immediate forecast.  Neighbors often take the stuff we put on the curb.  If they don't, we call the county to have them pick it up.

With Democrats fully in charge of the federal government again, for the first time in 10 years, the Trumpian QAnon conspiracy theories have been pushed off center stage, and we're able to do some actual governing.  It's made reading the news less frightful for me.  But those wacky Republicans haven't gone away, and our ancient Constitution, plus the filibuster, plus gerrymandering, means they'll probably be back soon.  I'll try to enjoy the relatively rational quiet time while it lasts, as though the children have been put to bed and the parents are having a pleasant conversation about their careers and whatnot, gently debating how to handle this challenge she's having at work, or how he's going to apply for a promotion next month.  The adults are back in charge.

Yep, I'm going to open the bottle of wine early, and then ... I don't know, I'll be spontaneous in what I do next :-)
