grumpy Bug
4 September 2020 09:45Got up, got myself ready, drove for half an hour, braved the potential COVID-19 exposure at the medical center, only to find my dermatologist had called in sick (on a Friday before a holiday, how suspicious) -- and nobody even tried to notify me, not via any of the methods they have on file. They could've texted me, called me, emailed me, sent a notification through the app -- nothing.
The receptionist said, "Didn't you receive our message?" Ugh. No, I held up my phone to show her nothing had happened to it. She said there was nobody else who could see me today, that I'd have to call the scheduling people to reschedule.
So I rescheduled with a different dermatologist for next Thursday. At least my potential skin cancer has only another 6 days to grow before it gets looked at. If I weren't dealing with potential cancer, maybe I'd have given my dermatologist another chance. But this isn't like having my haircut or my teeth cleaning postponed. I very much expected I'd be coming back to the house with a skin cancer diagnosis this morning.
Of course, I could be wrong. But better to get it checked. Ugh. Next week.
