In Maryland you can check the status of your mailed ballot -- mine has been received :-) Turns out you can trust the USPS after all! Heh.
A third day at the condo begins ... yesterday I binged Caprica all day, except it is one of those old-fashioned TV shows with 20 episodes in the season so it is impossible to finish it in one day, and eventually it started to drag, and I went to bed.
I remember watching the first half of it or so, one week at a time, as it aired, except probably via the TiVo. Yeah, the TiVo was a big part of our media consumption back then. T kept investing in the latest TiVo consoles ... until he didn't. We reached a point, especially after K moved out, when we just didn't watch much TV together anymore, and we could stream-on-demand the shows we wanted to watch together.
Also, back then we'd buy the DVD sets! LOL. Nobody buys DVD sets anymore. It felt so retro yesterday pulling out the Blu-Ray player and putting in a disk. LOL. Remembering that I was an early adopter of the HD-DVD standard, and felt so bitter when Blu-Ray won the format war. HD-DVD was the better technology, it should've won! LOL. Fucking Sony.
This condo is the land of old technology. Laptops from 2012-2015, a plasma TV from 2013, an Xbox 360, ... but I like it here.
I had a spot of anxiety this morning thinking about going back to the house, but I don't have to go back to the house today.
T sent me pics of all the pets. I do love the pets. And I love T, and I love K, and my life continues to revolve around my job and the people/pets I love. Even as these all change over time.
